I have been writing since youth. I wrote UP:  Short Poetic Stories of Inspiration, my first book over 20 years ago. That published work of poetry was an embarrassment to me as I was not ready to address nor admit that I have battled mental illness. Therefore I did not promote my writing to tell my story. I have since come to embrace and love myself as I am learning my flow. I recently titled the work, "The Tree" with the exact wording of the original book UP. It was my mind frame, essence, and struggle that nudged me to write poetry with simplicity. I've also added a story based on true events to complete "The Tree". That kept "The Tree" as it stood years earlier with an added bonus. I stepped into shoes that were too big for me then but now I wear those shoes snugly with honor, dignity, and joy.
